Great tool, clean and secure code, acls, https, easy to develop your own module . . .

Nearly a dream combined with ssh admin for most basic things.

[»] Webmin works on the Zeus Web Server!
by Michael Wells - Sep 16th 2001 20:51:29

If you prefer to run Webmin on your own web server, there are details on how to do it with Zeus here:

http://support.zeus.com/products/v3/webmin.html

Of course, Webmin is faster this way - and you get an easier way to use SSL implementation too (imho absolutely necessary with something like Webmin).

The version that I am using 0.8.8 it does support Slackware 8.0! And BTW, this is so cool!
Nice work! I am really impressed!

[»] Probably worth mentioning ...

... that this program is x86 only. Not that this is mentioned anywhere in any docs.

I have it running fine on a Solaris SPARQstation running Solaris 8.

I thought already retracted that comment, I replied to myself ... hmm, something went awry ... Anyway, I was mis-informed, it does run on systems other than x86 ... I eventually got it running on my Alpha as well.

[»] Best system configuration tool I've found so far
by M. Botermans - Jun 19th 2000 03:42:54

I highly recommend any Unix / Linux newbie to use this tool. At home, I installed RedHat Linux 6.2 and started playing with LinuxConf. Since I couldn't get my Apache server to work correctly, I finally found Webmin. Suddenly, system configuration became a breeze. The only thing I'm missing ( v0.79) is some online help. But since almost all packages come with good documentation you should be OK.

[»] 10x better than Linuxconf
by Matthew Davis - Dec 14th 1999 21:20:11

But thats just my opinion.. Linuxconf had a tendency to modify my system w/o me telling it. I opened it and tried to close it without applying the changes and it still modifyed a few things. Oh well.. Now with webmin I am worry free!
