About:
Quicktime for Linux lets you read and write Quicktime movies using several codecs. There are many Quicktime libraries for Linux; this one emphasizes reliability and accuracy while not stressing economy. Also included are frontends to several of the codecs which don't require Quicktime encapsulation, header dump, chunk extraction, and recovery tools.

Release focus: Minor feature enhancements

Changes:

[»] Some common codecs appear broken
by TheWhinger - Mar 19th 2001 05:40:17

With version 1.3 of Quicktime4Linux creating files with some of the standard formats, such as RGB uncompressed creates movies that become unplayable with tools such as xanim (reports that the clip has no length), although Quicktime for Windows and XMovie seems happy with them.

Version 1.2 does not have this problem.
