by Michael Shigorin - Dec 16th 2004 03:46:27

Regarding local monitoring, how does it stack up against monit?

    (replying myself) It stacks along nicely :-)
    monit is OK to mess with services on localhost, zabbix is fine with monitoring larger quantity of hosts and parameters.

[»] user comment on ZABBIX
by LEM - Nov 17th 2004 05:07:23

Excellent _product_:
. easy to install and configurue
. easy to custom
. easy to use
. very good functional level (multiple maps, availability, trigger/alerts dependancies, SLA calculation)
. use very few ressources

I've been using ZABBIX to monitor about 500 éléments (servers, routers, switches...) in a heterogenous environment (windows, unices, snmp-aware equipements).

An excellent alternative to Nagios and MoM+Minautore.

Hi Alexiei.

My problem:

mysql = yes
ucd-snmp=yes

in items panel ---- add Description=Procesor and create NEW item configuration:
AGENT SNMP v2
public (community)
OID = string example: host.hrDevice.hrProcessorTable.hrProcessorEntry.hrProcessorLoad.1
port =161
Key=.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.1
Monitored
Numeric

KEY=OID (snmptranslate)

ok. my problem (i little speak english - sorry)

GRAPH - add new graph --- add new (string Procesor) and not graph display ???

# snmpget OID/KEY is OK but zabbix not visualization graph ???

    Put .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2.1 to the OID. Key should be unique string, for example, 'procload'.

    Please use Sourceforge's capabilities for any feedback. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Alexei

[»] Best network monitor I 've seen
by robertj - Feb 7th 2003 15:29:38

This is a GREAT project. Best monitor I've seen. Puts the Big Brother monitoring to shame.
