Please note that this netgeo database is now out of date and unsupported,
according to http://www.caida.org/tools/utilities/netgeo/:
NOTE: NetGeo has not been actively maintained for several years, and
this will probably not change in the foreseeable future. As a result, there
are several known major issues affecting accuracy and service availability.
Please be warned that NetGeo may give wildly incorrect results, especially
for recently allocated or re-assigned IP addresses.

NetGeo

Take a loot at NetGeo a database that maps IP/domains/AS to
geographical locations, it's sponsered by all the major registries

Indeed

Agreed, great (looking) app, but note very useful without a major database.
Perhaps what is needed is some sort of collaborated effort to build such a
db online. (?) A bit like a napster for IP locations thing.

i like it... not 100% stable, but beautiful anyway.
-> the thing i'd like to know is: does anyone know
where i can get a nice big database of i.p.'scorrelated to
latitudes/longitudes?

I have severe trouble in getting this one compiled...
Unfortunately; seems to be a cool prog.

Xtraceroute is a pain in the arse
by ctxspy - Jul 5th 1999 01:50:24
It just won't compile..
I don't get it..
it seems to want GTK installed, which I have!!!
but the configure script bogs down at that point, and there is no
recourse!
Ah well,

I was able to get it to compile after installing the GTKglArea that I got
from here

which is now gone, but gtkglarea is distributed by Fedora, at least. rpm
--install gtkglarea-VERSION.rpm from the install CD.
I couldn't get the NetGeo patch to work against 0.9.1, though it's
promised for the next minor release. Anxiously awaited...

What version of gtkglarea did you use to get 0.9.1 to
compile? I installed gtkglarea 1.99 (the most recent I could
find) but had massive compilation errors.
TIA
