Dynamic Taste Detection for XMMS - Default branch
Section: Unix

Added: Thu, Jul 19th 2001 07:56 UTC (7 years, 0 months ago) Updated: Sun, Mar 31st 2002 05:32 UTC (6 years, 3 months ago)

About:
The Dynamic Taste Detection patch makes XMMS adapt its playlist randomization function to your personal taste. Songs you don't like end up at the end of the playlist, and songs you like to hear together tend to end up next to each other.

[»] FairDJ
by Walles - Nov 14th 2006 03:55:44

If you want something that plays through your music collection with priority given to your favorite songs, you could try FairDJ.

It's a Java app. You point it to your music collection, then telnet into it and tell it which songs you like. If more than one person telnets in, it attempts to be fair, thus the name.

The selection / fairness algorithm has seen a lot of trial-by-fire and is now really good.

[»] Discontinued
by Walles - Jan 21st 2004 01:16:56

Due to lack of interest from the XMMS maintainers ("http://bugs.xmms.org/show_bug.cgi?id=756") I don't feel like maintaining this any more.

If anybody wants to take over, have fun!
