About:
MODU is a Linux-oriented textual dialup toolkit
with support for MS callback and iptables. It is
intended to be flexible enough to dialup to many
ISPs without much configuration.

sounds interesting...
by Breadcrust - Jan 28th 2005 04:56:29
but KPPP already works fine so im not yet motivated enough to try it. i
think a good idea would be to show some examples of what it can do and how
it is setup on your website when you set one up.

At the time I started writing this kppp did not support Microsoft Callback
(and I'm not sure if it does now ... maybe you still haveto do a little
tweeging anyway).
Kppp did'nt support other features I wanted at the time like:
random dialing from an ISP number list (although this feature has been
removed because I do not use it any more),
retaining the full ISP number list (for dialing country wide) without
making havok on the interface,
logging into same ISP with different users without having separate entries
(and generally the ability to pass options to pppd without having to sore
entries anywhere),
works in command line(works even if you do not have any of the K desktop
libraries).
In any case the intantion of this project is to share with other people
something I find usefull. Making a replacement for kpp (or any other dialup
utility whether it be GUI or not) is out of the scope of this project.
I find it very usefull and have used it for over 4 years.
I also shared it with some fiends at work and they found it usefull too
(kppp at the time could not be used to connect to our tollfree RAS server
for standby).
