About:
The Linbox Rescue Server (LRS) is a tool to centralize hard disk images (like Ghost Enterprise Server), file backups, hardware and software inventory (with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X agents), secure software deployment using OpenSSH, and remote access on a single server. It can be managed from any PC through a Web-based administration interface, and disk images can be restored using PXE boot or using a bootable CD or DVD. It supports Ext2/3, ReiserFS, XFS, JFS, and LVM v1/v2.

Setting up the LRS from base*.tgz and .wbm files is not easy, and you'll probably miss interesting features, like bandwidth limitation, so please, use the ISO, but... Remember that this ISO will overwrite your 1st hard disk !

The latest .iso of the GPLed LRS release is based on a Debian Woody and can be downloaded here:

ftp://ftp.linbox.org/pub/lrs/iso/

Of course, you won't need an evaluation licence to use the free LRS !

If you want to try our product, you should download the bootable ISO image available here:
ftp://ftp.linbox.com/pub/lbs/iso/
