 toast 1.458
by Jacques Frechet - Fri, May 9th 2008 02:38 PDT

About: toast is a simple package manager for Unix. It automatically locates and downloads source code, determines how to compile it, installs each package in its own directory tree, and makes the resulting binaries available through an encap/GNU stow-like symlink tree. It also supports binary packages. It is often used to install and manage software in a non-root user's home directory.

Changes: This version supports command-line options that give the user more control over the build process. More importantly, it does a better job of building more software "out of the box" with no user intervention.

 Seed7 2008-05-08
by Thomas Mertes - Fri, May 9th 2008 02:20 PDT

About: Seed7 is a general purpose programming language. It is a higher level language compared to Ada, C++, and Java. In Seed7, new statements and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Although Seed7 contains several concepts of other programming languages, it is generally not considered as a direct descendant of any other programming language.

Changes: The descriptions of rem, mod, times, minIdx, maxIdx, rand, insert, category, local_vars, local_consts, setCategory, setParams, 'in', 'not in', make_list, pos, &:=, @:=, and bufferChar in the manual were improved. The functions fcast, fvarCast, varConv, varConv TRACE_REF, pos, [minIdx .. maxIdx], minIdx, maxIdx, minIntIdx, maxIntIdx, card, xalloc, ord, getwd, and getln in seed7_05.s7i were improved. The compiler support for the actions arr_maxidx, arr_minidx, flt_icast, int_pow, rfl_ipos, and sct_alloc was improved. The functions arr_maxidx, arr_minidx, bigUIConv, rflIpos, and flt_icast were added.
